South of Chengdu, this is one of the four sacred mountains of China. You can be sure that there are scores of tourists, mostly Chinese.
The typical tour is to get up one day, spend the night at the monastery on top, view the sun rise on top of the mountain and then get back down again.
With regard to accommodation, you can try your luck at one of the monasteries, usually the cheapest places, but also the most crowded.
