The Ho Chi Minh Trail is a whole network of paths in the dense forests running parallel to the Vietnamese border. It was used by the Viet Minh against the French in the 1950s and later by the North Vietnamese in the American War. Many remains of the war can still be found.
It is best accessed by Xepon on the road from Savannakhet to Lao Bao.
