In Banpo Village, people still live in very traditional style with many women weaving beautiful embroideries for bags, clothes, etc.
Since this is a closed-knit society there is not much competition and prices are virtually fixed (but still low considering all the work involved). Items include silk sarongs and shawls as well as beautifully embroidered backpacks and pouches.
There are other villages around Luang Phabang that specialise in pottery and one is even famous for its cucumbers, another for its waterfall.
