Many streets and roads in Laos are still unpaved but made directly from the red earth and home to endless potholes.
The earth turns to very fine red dust, which gets everywhere, on your clothes, in your clothes, even between your teeth. You will easily get used to it, and it certainly helps to remind you to drink a lot.
