The Central Highlands cover the southern part of the Truong Som Mountain Range. Its main features are the beautiful scenery and the many minority groups (montagnards) living in this area. The region has a temperate climate, where cold nights are not a rarity.
Highway 19 is an important route into the Central Highlands, running from Qui Nhon on the coast up to Pleiku. Buses and vans run daily from Qui Nhon to Pleiku, Kontum and Buon Ma Thuot.
